Featuring | VEHNEE SATURNO | With Me On TCPS This Saturday

*He is the genius behind Martin Nievera’s “Be My Lady,” Ariel Rivera’s “Sana Kahit Minsan,” and Ella Mae Saison’s “Till My Heartaches End.”…and proud to add, my personal ‘discoverer’, mentor and producer of my first and most successful album.

Indeed, Vehnee Saturno has come a long way since he first entered the country’s music scene in 1982 via the prestigious Metro Pop Music Festival.

The son of a carpenter and a housewife, Saturno struggled with poverty along with his nine other siblings. He claims in interviews that it was the plain hardship of living poor that inspired him to create songs that appeal to the heart of the masses.

Saturno dreamt of becoming a journalist but never did get the chance to finish college due to financial constraint. After high school, he joined the Philippine Air Force and went on to do odd jobs thereafter.

He finally decided to seriously pursue songwriting and hit it big via the Metro Pop Music Festival.

No surprise then that Saturno has developed a soft spot for struggling musical artists whom he see oozing with talent.[…]

Although he is currently into producing and developing new talents, Vehnee said he will never stop doing what he love the most – composing songs.

“You know what, song writing is never boring. I enjoy every moment doing it, even if I sit down working on a piece for eight to ten hours straight. Even if there were also times of frustrations, disappointments and sometimes you do get burned out, I still go back doing that job because I love it and I have the passion for it,” Saturno explained.

For one who started out as a struggling song writer and eventually became a star-maker himself, Saturno only has a simple but profound advice to aspiring song writers and composers of this generation. It is to love their craft and have a deep passion for it.
